Jammu, Dec 01: The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) Regional Office in Jammu has taken proactive measures to settle pension claims locally, ensuring timely disbursement to eligible beneficiaries. The process includes distributing pension benefits to the widows and family members of deceased members, even in cases where the pension contribution is equivalent to one month’s pension.
Rizwan Uddin, Regional P.F. Commissioner (J&K and Ladakh), led a dedicated team of Officers/Officials from the EPFO Regional Office in Jammu. The team, comprising Ajit Kumar Mishra, RPFC-II, Sanjeev Kumar EO/AO, Pritpal Singh, ASO, and Dr Paramjeet Singh, Senior SSA, processed over a dozen pension claims, providing benefits to members and their families.
The focus has been on expeditiously settling death claims, with multiple claims processed and benefits disbursed to claimants. Pension certificates were distributed to various pensioners, including Mrs Asha Koul, Mr Chhandji Saraf and Mr Bhushan Kumar, among others.
EPFO Regional Office Jammu emphasized that monthly pensions are available to members with ten or more years of service under the Employees’ Pension Scheme 1995. Members can apply for Superannuation Pension through online claims after reaching the age of 58. In the unfortunate event of a member’s demise while in service, family members can avail of monthly pensions through offline claims.
The pensioners who visited EPFO, Jammu expressed their satisfaction and appreciation for the efforts made by the EPFO team in disbursing their monthly pensions and arrears before the end of November 2023. The initiative aims to provide social security to eligible members and their families during times of need and unforeseen circumstances.
