Jammu, Oct 12: The Evacuee Property (EP) Department in Jammu successfully carried out an eviction drive to reclaim EP Land from illegal occupants, encroachers, and land grabbers. The operation was carried out in strict adherence to the directives of the Custodian General of Jammu and Kashmir, Rajinder Singh Tara.
Under the meticulous supervision of Custodian Jammu, Ravinder Sharma, an eviction team was formed, led by Deputy Custodian (HQ) Jammu, Aijaz Ahmed. The team, consisting of field inspectors from District Jammu and other EP Department officials, collaborated seamlessly with revenue authorities, including Naib Tehsildar, Girdawar, and Patwari of the relevant revenue halqa.
Prior to the eviction, these authorities had diligently identified and demarcated the EP Land located at Narwal Pain in Jammu, measuring 15 kanals and 02 marlas under khasra no 64. This land, valued at over 30 crore rupees based on market rates, was successfully reclaimed.
The eviction drive received essential support from the local police force, led by SHO Satwari, ensuring the security and smooth execution of the operation. Signboards were prominently displayed around the area to notify the general public about the reclaimed land.
The Evacuee Property Department has warned the public against encroaching on EP Land. Stringent legal actions will be taken against illegal occupants, encroachers, and trespassers involved in unauthorized activities concerning EP Land.
