Ganderbal, Apr 17: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal Shyambir on Monday stressed upon the officers to ensure that the farmers along with PRIs actively participate in the orientation programmes. He called upon the agriculture and allied departments to give the programme wide publicity in advance so that mass participation of the farming community can be assured.
Chairing a meeting of officers to discuss the rollout of Kisan Sampark Abhiyan (KSA) under Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) at the Panchayat level here, the DC directed the concerned officers that resource persons who will provide the training to the farmers should have additional knowledge about schemes so that they can encourage the farmers regarding the benefits and profits of modern technologies and schemes.
At the outset, a detailed presentation was given by the District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Ganderbal/ District Nodal Officer, and Farmers Orientation under HADP regarding the projects approved, mode of implementation, identified venues and other arrangements put in place for the successful conduct of farmer’s orientation programme under the HADP in the district.
The meeting was informed that 29 projects under agriculture and allied sectors have been approved under HADP and 47 venues have been identified for training to the farmers which shall commence on 24 April 2023.
The concerned departments raised several issues in the implementation of the programme for which the DC assured all possible help from the District Administration for the successful implementation of the programme in the district.
The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Irfan Giri, SDM Kangan, Assistant Commissioner Development, ACP, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Ganderbal, Assistant Director Fisheries and Chief Agriculture Officer BDOs besides other officers of all concerned departments.
