Srinagar, Nov 26: Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, V K Birdi Sunday urged officers to intensify surveillance on anti-national and anti-social elements, directing them to take stringent action against troublemakers and rumour mongers.
Addressing the security review meeting at the District Police Office in Srinagar, IGP Birdi stressed the need for heightened vigilance and proactive measures on the ground to ensure a peaceful atmosphere in Srinagar City.
He emphasised upon the officers to keep strict surveillance over the terrorist associates and take all necessary measures under law against them.
During the meeting, IGP Kashmir emphasised the critical importance of enhancing security surveillance on vital establishments and locations. He underlined the need to protect vulnerable individuals to thwart the nefarious designs of terrorists in Srinagar city. The officers were urged to take all necessary measures to maintain a peaceful atmosphere.
“It is of crucial importance to enhance security surveillance of all vital establishments and locations besides to take care of vulnerable persons to thwart away the nefarious designs of terrorists in Srinagar city,” he said.

The discussions covered various crucial topics related to the security scenario in the district. IGP Kashmir called for a comprehensive evaluation of current security threats and challenges. He directed the officers to ensure that law enforcement agencies are prepared to respond swiftly and effectively to any security incidents.
IGP Kashmir highlighted the significance of seamless coordination among different branches of law enforcement to enhance the overall security apparatus. He stressed the exploration of strategies to foster positive relationships between law enforcement and the community, with a focus on building trust and cooperation.
Additionally, the IGP emphasised strengthening intelligence-sharing mechanisms to stay ahead of potential threats and criminal activities.
