Srinagar, Jun 22: An encounter between security forces and terrorists is underway along the LoC in the Bajrang area of north Kashmir’s Uri sector and alert has been sounded in the region, officials on Saturday said.
Army Spokesman said that Operation Bajrang is underway along the LoC in Uri sector. Earlier based on specific intelligence inputs, an anti-infiltration operation was launched in the Uri Sector. Contact was established with infiltrating terrorists and Operations are in progress, he added.

Another official said that during the wee hours, the movement of 2-3 terrorists was detected and an operation was immediately launched. During firefight two terrorists are believed to be killed, whose dead bodies have not been recovered so far.
