Srinagar, Aug 15: Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh’s All India Executive Member and former Joint General Secretary Dr Manmohan Vaidya hoisted the national flag here on Thursday on the 78th Independence Day.
Dr Vaidya, who is currently on a visit to Kashmir, wished the people of India and Jammu & Kashmir on the country’s 78th Independence Day. In his address, he said, “Indian culture is the Ganges, which has charity and acceptance of all. Spiritual democracy is the core theme of India. Indian philosophy of life rejects Westernism. Being national is qualitative. The concept of nation in India is society based.”
The RSS leader said India’s identity is its unique spiritual outlook. “India has been an industrial society for generations. The centres of learning skills were the homes of India, where knowledge was preserved from generation to generation. The country has created its own distinct cultural identity on the world stage with an inclusive, intellectual and progressive outlook. Every Indian should take this resolution on this day.”
Earlier, after hoisting the tricolour and singing the national anthem, Dr Vaidya presented sweets to the security personnel and wished them Happy Independence Day. On the occasion, National Secretary of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad Mustafa Ali, ABVP Srinagar President Arif Shafi and ABVP Srinagar Secretary Anjum Saqib, etc, were present.
