Baramulla, Sept 29: Eid Mila- un-Nabi, the celebration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W), resonated with fervor and religious zeal in Baramulla district.
Over 10,000 devotees actively participated in a peaceful procession that marked the joyous occasion.
The celebrations commenced with a night-long worship (shab) on the intervening night of September 28th and 29th, observed in various mosques across the district.
The largest gathering took place at Dargah-e-Aaliya in the old town of Baramulla. Thousands gathered the next morning to witness the holy relic of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
The vibrant procession, initiated from the shrine Syed Janbaz Wali in Khanpora and concluding at Dargah-e-Aaliya, traversed through the main market of Baramulla, witnessing active participation from the locals.
Eid Milad Un Nabi is an annual celebration observed on the 12th day of Rabi ul Awal, the third month of the Islamic calendar.
To ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of the procession, SSP Baramulla, Amod Ashok Nagpure-IPS, along with SP Headquarters Baramulla, Divya D-IPS, and DySP Headquarters Baramulla, Altaf Ahmad-JKPS, visited Ziyarat Sharief Syed Janbaz Wali (R.A), the starting point of the procession.
They supervised the police arrangements and actively participated in the procession along with the devotees.
Baramulla police, in collaboration with civil administration, Army 46 RR, and 53 Bn CRPF, facilitated the smooth conduct of the processions, implementing traffic diversions for the hassle-free movement of traffic in town Baramulla.
SSP Baramulla also demonstrated a community-oriented approach by offering refreshments to the devotees, organized by District Police Baramulla.
Police said that the entire event unfolded in a peaceful and secure environment, reflecting the unity and shared spirit of the community during this special occasion.
