Srinagar, June 03: Inspector General of Border Security Force, Kashmir, Ashok Yadav on Saturday said that security forces are working in synergy along the Line of Control (LoC) to foil infiltration attempts from across the border.
‘’The melting of snow increases the chances of infiltration of terrorists along the Line of Control in Kashmir but security forces have upped their preparation to foil any such attempt,’’ IG BSF said.
Addressing the mediapersons on the sidelines of the Walkathon /Run programme as part of “AzadiKaAmritMahotsav”celebrations in Srinagar organised by BSF,  the IG said the BSF along with other security agencies will ensure all possible infiltration attempts are foiled.
“We are alert along the LoC. We conduct area domination and anti-infiltration role jointly with the army. Snow has started melting along some areas which make them vulnerable to infiltration. We map these areas and then redistribute our deployment,” he said.
“Security forces are ready to deal with any situation. From defeating terrorism to counter narco-terror, our men are high in morale and ready to tackle any situation,” he said.
About the upcoming AmarnathYatra in the Valley, IG BSF Yadavsaid a coordinated security response grid will be in place to ensure incident-free AmarnathYatra. ‘’We will ensure a peaceful and smooth AmarnathYatra this year,” he said.
“The Yatra is being conducted under the supervision of UT administration and local Police. We have made preparations for our role as per the requirement. To assist pilgrims during any natural disasters or anything, BSF teams will be deployed at strategic and vulnerable locations to ensure incident free pilgrimage,” he said. The annual pilgrimage is scheduled to begin on July 1 and end on August 31.
After flagging off the Walkathon from Nishat Garden, IG BSF Yadav said the event was aimed to spread a message of unity and solidarity among the people of Kashmir Valley and to showcase the glorious history of BSF.
The Walkathon programme was also attended by BSF Officials and other dignitaries.  Later, it culminated at New Hut, Srinagar.
