Education Dept Kulgam organises Community Mobilization Programme

Kulgam, Sep 12: A community mobilization cum sensitization programme for School Management Committees (SMCs), Village Education Committees (VECs) and PRI members was organised on Tuesday by the Zonal Education Office Kulgam under the aegis of SAMAGRA Shiksha at DIET Kulgam.
Chairman, District Development Council (DDC) Kulgam, Mohammad Afzal Parray, Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohiudin Bhat, ADDC Kulgam, Showkat Ahmad Rather along with many officers of the Education Department graced the occasion.
VEC members, SMCs, PRIs, senior citizens, teachers, students, retired Govt. Employees, youth and many Govt employees from other departments were participated in the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman DDC said that the programme aims to improve, streamline and strengthen the Education sector. He applauded the teachers and showered praise on them for their exemplary work.
The Deputy Commissioner speaking on the occasion stressed upon concerned stakeholders to take active and fruitful measures to improve female literacy rate and work proactively to get the dropouts enrolled.
He also highlighted the role of PRIs in the implementation of various schemes and development of their concerned areas.
ADDC Kulgam, Showkat Ahmad Rather highlighted the role of education and encouraged PRIs and other stakeholders to come forward and revive the education system for the future of children in their localities.
It was informed that the programme aimed to sensitize the stakeholders about their role in bringing a positive change in the educational scenario of the Zone and it also aimed at uniting the stakeholders to work proactively to mobilize communities to attain the goal of quality education.
During the programme, community members were also made aware of different government schemes and were urged to promote government schools and work for their upliftment which would help in attaining the dream of quality education.
Various colourful cultural items related to Community Mobilization were presented by the students of different schools.
