Srinagar, Oct 31: In a grand celebration of Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory Foundation Day, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha extended his congratulations to the citizens of the Union Territory and shared the remarkable journey of growth that Jammu and Kashmir have undertaken.
“Over the past four years, the region, often described as the crown jewel of the nation, has witnessed a significant transformation, with 1.3 crore citizens seeing their dreams take flight,” said Lt Governor Manoj Sinha.
He expressed his gratitude to the citizens, public representatives, government officials, police, and security forces for their unwavering commitment and dedication to building a peaceful and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir.
Under the visionary guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji, the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has reached new heights, excelling in various sectors and contributing to the development of Viksit Bharat, as the Lt Governor remarked. ”He highlighted the successful dismantling of an ecosystem that had promoted separatism and terrorism for nearly seven decades. The age-old values of humanism, communal harmony, and peace have been firmly re-established,” he noted.
Sectors such as agriculture, industry, and tourism are experiencing impressive growth, and new infrastructure is being rapidly developed across the Union Territory. This renewed dynamism, according to the Lt Governor, is the result of the dedication and hard work of 1.3 crore citizens.
Lt Governor Manoj Sinha emphasised the progressive policies of the administration that have empowered the poor, underprivileged, and marginalized sections of society. The development agenda revolves around placing the common man at its center.
“Equitable growth, a dynamic rural economy, the empowerment of youth, women, and farmers, transparent and corruption-free administration, and advancements in the social sector to enhance the quality of life serve as an inspiration to the entire nation,” he stated.
During the celebrations, beneficiaries of various government schemes shared their success stories across diverse sectors. Additionally, an e-Book titled ‘4 Saal Bemisaal’ – Journey of Transformation was released by the Lt Governor. A documentary film on Jammu & Kashmir’s transformative journey was also screened.
The event featured captivating performances by artists that celebrated the rich cultural heritage of Jammu and Kashmir. Distinguished attendees included Junaid Azim Mattu, Mayor of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation; Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, Advisor to the Lt Governor; Lt General Rajiv Ghai, GOC 15 Corps; Administrative Secretaries; senior officers of Security Forces; Civil and Police Administration, and prominent citizens from various walks of life.
The Chairpersons of District Development Councils, Vice Chancellors of various Universities, and public representatives also graced the UT Foundation Day celebrations with their presence.
