JAMMU, Mar 09: To ensure smooth conduct of Parliamentary elections and meeting any kind of emergency situation the Election Commission of India (ECI) has for the first time decided to make available the choppers for the staff deputed for 2024 Parliamentary elections in the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K).
The Helicopters to be provided to staff include, one single engine Chopper, one Air Ambulance and one twin engine Helicopter.
The decision to put in service the Helicopters has been taken to meet all these emergency situations.
As per an official order, the tenders from various companies/firms/agencies have been invited for providing Chopper services for five days on Wet Lease basis for all phases of Lok Sabha elections.
The tenders have been invited by the CEO for helicopters till 13th of this month up to 1 PM. At 1:30 PM, the tenders bids will be opened on 13th of this month in respect of providing choppers to the election staff for 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
This is for the first time that the ECI has decided to provide Helicopters for the staff to be deployed for election duty for Lok Sabha elections.
