Srinagar, Aug 31: Following change of date of polls in Haryana, Election Commission of India on Saturday revised the date of counting to October 8 in Jammu and Kashmir.
As per the notification, the ECI revised the date of counting form October 04 to October 08.
The ECI in a notification said that the poll date in Haryana has been rescheduled due to several representations received by the poll body regarding mass movement of people to Rajasthan for a festival which may lead to decrease in voter turnout.
It said that polls will now take place in Haryana on October 5 and counting for both Haryana and J&K will take place on October 8.
