Rajouri, Sep 07: Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Choudhary Sunday visited Kangri area of Rajouri to express solidarity with families two persons who lost their lives in a tragic landslide incident recently.
As per a statement issued here, during the visit, the deputy Chief minister handed over financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) to the bereaved families. While expressing deep sorrow over the loss of lives, the deputy Chief minister assured the family members of all possible support from the Government. He emphasised that the administration stands shoulder to shoulder with the affected families during this difficult time. The deputy Chief minister also issued on-spot directions to PWD and BRO authorities to ensure proper maintenance of roads so that the general public does not face hardships, especially during rainy season. He asked the concerned departments to take proactive measures for timely restoration of damaged stretches and strengthen vulnerable road portions to avert such incidents in future. The deputy Chief minister reiterated the Government’s commitment towards providing speedy relief, rehabilitation, and long-term infrastructural improvements in landslide-prone regions.
