Srinagar, July 11: In a move to address the shortage of teaching staff in government schools across the Kashmir Valley, the Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has issued an advertisement notice for the hiring of Cluster Resource Coordinators for Teaching Support for the academic session 2024–25.According to the notification, a total of 164 Cluster Resource Coordinators (CRCs) will be engaged across nine districts of the Kashmir Valley, with the exception of Shopian. These coordinators will be deployed in government high and higher secondary schools, offering subject-specific teaching support in various disciplines. The appointments will be purely temporary, lasting only for the revised academic session of 2024–25. The tenure will automatically end at the conclusion of the session or when a regular arrangement is made by the government—whichever is earlier. Each selected candidate will receive a monthly remuneration of ₹25,000, subject to satisfactory performance and verification of their character and antecedents by the Additional Director General of Police (CID), J&K. The continuation of service will be performance-based, with regular feedback obtained from heads of institutions. To formalise their engagement, candidates will need to submit an affidavit before a Judicial Magistrate First Class, declaring that they will have no claim for regularisation or continuation beyond the stipulated academic session. The selection process will be merit-based and subject-specific, with separate merit lists prepared for each district. In cases of a tie in scores, priority will be given first to the candidate with a higher percentage in postgraduate qualifications, then undergraduate marks, and finally the older candidate in case of a persistent tie.Applicants are allowed to apply only in their domicile district and must not be employed in any government or semi-government department or be enrolled in any academic or professional course at the time of application. Each candidate must also submit an undertaking that in the event they wish to discontinue their services during the session, they must provide two months’ prior written notice. The Education Department also retains the right to terminate the services of any hired coordinator at any time without prior notice. This hiring initiative is expected to temporarily fill the critical teaching gaps in the Valley’s government schools and improve academic delivery during the ongoing session.
