Srinagar, Dec 07: Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) on Thursday issued final show cause to a teacher at Govt. High School in Kupwara over unauthorized absence from legitimate duties since March 2017.
As per the order issued by Director School Education Kashmir, final show cause notice has been issued in favour of Shaista Ajaz, a teacher at Govt. High School, Gundisath, Kupwara.
It said despite multiple opportunities to resume duties, Shaista Ajaz allegedly failed to do so, prompting the issuance of a joint Show Cause Notice on 06/07/2021.
In response, she claimed to have applied for an inter-district transfer on security grounds, but failed to provide supporting documents.
Following an inquiry by CEO Kupwara, it was established that Shaista Ajaz had been absent without authorization since March 2017.
The notice invokes Article 113 of J&K Civil Services Rules (Volume I) of 1956, stating that after five years of continuous absence on leave, an officer is considered to be out of state employment.
The Designated Committee, in its meeting on 17/10/2023, recommended issuing a Final Show Cause Notice, Shaista Ajaz is given ten days to respond, explaining why action under Article 113 should not be initiated.
“Failure to do so within the stipulated period will result in the assumption that she has no defense, leading to the initiation of necessary actions without further notice,” it said.
