SRINAGAR, Jan 21: In response to the persistent extreme cold conditions, the Director of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) has officially announced an extension of winter vacations for all schools up to the 12th class in the Summer Zones of Jammu Division. The extended break will be effective from January 22, 2024, to January 27, 2024, as detailed in a circular issued by the DSEJ.
The order emphasizes the safety and well-being of students amidst the challenging weather conditions. It is a continuation of the department’s proactive approach to ensure the comfort and health of both students and staff during the harsh winter period.
Despite the extended break, the circular notes that students actively involved in rehearsals for Republic Day celebrations will continue to attend practice sessions. This exception highlights the significance of the upcoming national event and the commitment of students to their roles in the celebrations.
The circular also places responsibility on the Heads of Institutions (HOIs) to guarantee the smooth execution of Republic Day functions. HOIs are instructed to ensure that all necessary arrangements are in place, fostering the enthusiastic participation of students in the celebrations.
