Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police in Kulgam arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A Police spokesperson said that a police party of PC Nillow at a checkpoint established at Main Chowk Nillow intercepted a suspicious person who tried to flee after noticing police party but was apprehended tactfully. He has been identified as Abdul Rashid Dar son of Ghulam Nabi Dar resident of Nillow.
During checking, 4.2 Kgs of poppy straw concealed in a bag was recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 25/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Kulgam and investigation has been initiated.
