Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police on Wednesday arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
A Police spokesperson said that during naka checking at Badran Crossing, police party of police station Magam intercepted one Auto Load carrier bearing registration number JK04G-3637 with one person onboard. During search of said vehicle, police recovered 250 Grams of Charas like substance from it.
“The accused drug smuggler has been arrested from the spot who has been identified as Farooq Ahmad Sheikh S/O Ghulam Mohi-u-Din Sheikh R/O Badran Vehicle used in the commission of Crime has also been seized”, he said.
“Case FIR number 30/2023 under relevant sections of NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Magam & investigation taken up.”
