Drass, Feb 01: The Drass Winter Carnival-2024, themed “Celebrating Life in the Second Coldest Inhabited Place in the World,” started with grandeur in a dazzling opening ceremony. Organized collaboratively by the Indian Army and local communities, this year’s carnival promises a unique fusion of sports and culture, showcasing the indomitable spirit of the region.
The inaugural events featured an adrenaline-pumping ice hockey match between City Blue and Team Red, adding excitement to the frosty air. A captivating archery match displayed precision and skill, leaving spectators spellbound.
Amin Polo, a representative of the organizing committee, expressed enthusiasm about sharing the magic of Drass with the world. The live streaming on YouTube provides a global audience with a front-row seat to witness the unique blend of sports and culture that defines the Drass Winter Carnival.
Highlighting the Indian Army’s significant role, Polo stated, “The Army plays a pivotal role in engaging youth in such progressive activities, diverting their energy towards a positive direction.
