In order to review the progress achieved under ongoing Special Summary Revision (SSR)-2024 of Electoral rolls of Anantnag and Kulgam Districts, a meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Secretary Mining, Dr. Rashmi Singh, Electoral Roll Observer for these districts, at Dak Bungalow here.

The meeting was attended by Electoral Registration officers (EROs), Assistant Electoral Registration officers (AEROs) and other concerned officials.

During the meeting, Dr. Rashmi Singh took a detailed review of the progress achieved in the districts under ongoing SSR-2024 and sought details about the number of fresh applications received, as well as the number of claims and objections.

She emphasised upon the concerned EROs and AEROs to conduct revisions according to guidelines of ECI as per notified schedule and expedite the process for achieving targets. She also asked them to ensure timely disposal of claims and objections.

Dr. Rashmi Singh also enjoined upon the concerned EROs and AEROs to complete the revision of the special summary with 100 percent enrolment of eligible voters, including the addition of new voters and deletion of duplicate voters, within the extended date.

The Secretary stressed for organising special outreach programmes for young eligible electors particularly in educational institutions as well as door-to-door campaigns for achieving set targets.

She asked the EROs and AEROs to remain proactive for creating awareness and activate all their resources for successful conduct of all SVEEP programmes across the districts with focused attention to ensure 100% registration of all eligible electors and ensure that no elector is left unregistered keeping in view the limited time period for conducting the exercise.

Dr. Rashmi also emphasised on holding meetings with registered political parties and attaining the target of EP ratio at par with the national EP ratio.
