Jammu, July 18: The Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare is set to host the 54th Pre-Retirement Counselling (PRC) Workshop in Jammu on Friday. The event will be graced by Dr Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State for multiple portfolios including Science and Technology, Earth Sciences, Department of Atomic Energy, and Department of Space, as well as MoS Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions.
The PRC workshops are a pivotal initiative under Good Governance aimed at facilitating retiring officials of the Government of India in their superannuation process. These workshops provide crucial information on retirement benefits and pension sanction processes to retiring employees, thereby enhancing ‘Ease of Living’ for pensioners.
Key sessions during the workshop will cover topics such as the BHAVISHYA Portal, Integrated Pensioners Portal, Retirement Benefits, Family Pension, CGHS, Income Tax Rules, ANUBHAV, Digital Life Certificate, and investment opportunities. These sessions are designed to equip retirees with the knowledge required for smooth pre-retirement processes and to inform them about available post-retirement benefits.
Additionally, a detailed session on various investment modes and planning will help retirees manage their retirement funds effectively. The workshop will also educate participants on the CGHS system, its portal, facilities available, and procedures for accessing CGHS benefits.
Approximately 250 retirees expected to retire within the next nine months will benefit from this workshop. The Department plans to continue organizing such workshops as part of its commitment to ensuring a seamless and comfortable transition for Central Government retirees. Efforts are underway to keep retirees informed about government initiatives, enabling them to maximize their post-retirement benefits.
This workshop underscores the government’s dedication to supporting retirees by providing them with essential information and tools for a dignified post-retirement life.
