Srinagar, July 05: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah on Friday visited Firdous Colony Eidgah, where a tragic fire had ravaged numerous homes and a mosque. He interacted with families affected by the devastating fires, who shared with him the harrowing details of their ordeal.
Promising the fire victims unwavering support from the National Conference, Dr Farooq implored the district administration to swiftly deliver financial aid and assistance to those in need. He was accompanied by his Political Advisor Mushtaq Guroo as they witnessed the devastation firsthand, the NC said in a statement issued here.
The party said that NC In-Charge Constituency Eidgah and former Speaker, Mubarak Gul had already visited the site of the tragic fire yesterday and assessed the situation.
Later, the NC chief offered Friday congregational prayers at the Asar-e-Sharif Dargah, Hazratbal, where he beseeched the Almighty for the well-being and protection of the oppressed people of Palestine, the statement said.
