Srinagar, Sep 09: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah paid tributes to party leader and former minister Late Mushtaq Lone on his martyrdom anniversary.
The party president while paying tributes to Lone remembered his contribution towards the socio-political emancipation of the poor and downtrodden. He said the history of the National Conference was replete with the great sacrifices of such selfless souls who gave their lives while serving society.
“Mushtaq Sahib was a selfless soldier of our party who selflessly served the people day in, day out facing all odds. In his capacity as the Minister of State for home affairs, he performed in an unparalleled manner with utmost dedication and sense of dutifulness,” Dr Farooq said.
In his message, Omar Abdullah said, “The jinxed fate of J&K snatched numerous sincere party functionaries and workers from us; late Mushtaq Sahib was one of them. A people’s leader, an ace administrator and a dedicated party member, his contributions to the party in particular, and the people of north Kashmir are immense. On his martyrdom day anniversary, I pay my homage to him and pray to Almighty to bestow upon him the highest echelons in Jannah.” Other party leaders also paid tributes to Mushtaq Lone.
