Srinagar, Nov 23: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President & Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday paid rich tributes to the veteran journalist and the father figure of the press in Kashmir Khwaja Sanaullah Bhat on his 15th death anniversary.
Paying tribute to the late Sanaullah Bhat, Dr Farooq said, “Khwaja Sahib was a pioneer of objective journalism, introducing street sales of newspapers. A true trendsetter, he never wavered in his commitment to truth and human values. Khawaja Sahib’s daily column in the Aftab newspaper, ‘Khazar Souchta Hai Wular Kay Kinaray’, addressed numerous societal issues. I offer my heartfelt tributes to him and pray that the Almighty elevates his status in Jannat.”
CM Omar Abdullah praised Khwaja Sanaullah Bhat as one of the trailblazers of journalism in Kashmir. “Khwaja Sahib’s contributions to journalism will serve as a guiding light for future generations,” he said. Omar offered his prayers for Khwaja Sahib’s soul to rest in the highest realms of Jannat.
Among others, the party’s General Secretary Ali Muhammad Muhammad Sagar, Additional General Secretary Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Treasurer Shammi Oberoi, Advisor to CM Nasir Aslam Wani, Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq, State Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar, Provincial President Showkat Mir, SM and Media cell functionaries have also paid glowing tributes to Khawaja Sanaullah Bhat and prayed for peace to his soul in the highest echelons of Jannat.
