Dr Farooq, Omar felicitate para-archer Sheetal Devi

Srinagar, Jan 10: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President and Member of Parliament from Srinagar Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah have felicitated para-archer Sheetal Devi on being honoured with the prestigious Arjuna Award for the year 2023.
In his message, Dr Farooq said, “Sheetal Devi’s outstanding feat would serve as an encouragement to our young & budding players. Heartfelt congratulations to Sheetal for being presented with the ‘Arjuna Award-2023’ by President Draupadi Murmu Ji at the ‘National Sports Awards 2023’ for her excellent performance in para-archery and enhancing the glory of J&K.”
In his message, Omar said, “Hearty congratulations to para-archer Sheetal Devi on being honoured with the prestigious ‘Arjuna Award-2023’! This is a shot in the arm for every proud citizen of Jammu and Kashmir. It reflects how the youth of J&K are no less talented than their counterparts anywhere else. Sheetal Devi’s achievement will go a long way in inspiring the youth of J&K to reach for new frontiers and to conquer new heights.”

Meanwhile, Dr Farooq and Omar condoled the demise of Shri Sanjay Handoo, son of veteran party leader & former Minister late P. L Handoo.
The duo prayed for peace to the departed and strength to the bereaved to bear the irreparable loss. Other party leaders also extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal rest to the departed soul.
