Srinagar, May 20: Continuing her Pirpanjal Valley visit, Chairperson of the J&K Waqf Board, Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, visited Takia Baba Ghulam Shah Darul Uloom Badshah Lassana in Surankote, Poonch, and Hazrat Fatima-Tuz-Zahra (RA) Girls Educational Institute at Raza Nagar in Tehsil Haveli in district Poonch, where she interacted with students.
Dr Andrabi held meetings with the staff and management of both institutions, stressing the importance of updating the syllabus and incorporating capacity-building initiatives into the curriculum.
“We need to impart scientific education to the children simultaneously in addition to religious education. Our children have to be good human beings, morally strong citizens of this proud country with a universal outlook so that they can become future global leaders in their respective fields of careers,” Dr Andrabi said. She expressed happiness and satisfaction with the facilities provided to the children at these institutions.
The Waqf Board chairperson met with several public delegations in Poonch and Surankote, discussing current political and social issues. She also visited the Bharatiya Janata Party district office in Poonch and held a meeting with party leaders.
