Dr. A.H Rizvi on Thursday formally assumed charge as Regional Director at Indira Gandhi National Open University’s Srinagar centre.

“IGNOU is pleased to handover the charge of Regional Centre Srinagar to Dr. A. H. Rizvi as Regional Director on 30.05.2024. This charge comes following the conclusion of two years deputation period of Dr. Shahnawaz Ahmad Dar,” reads a press communique, as per GNS.

“Dr. Rizvi brings with them a wealth of experience and expertise in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode of education, making an invaluable addition to the team at IGNOU Regional Centre Srinagar. Dr. Rizvi’s proven track record of more than 16 years of teaching and administrative experience in ODL demonstrates his commitment to excellence and innovation.”

The Regional Director, the communique reads, expressed his privilege to serve one of the largest Open University IGNOU with the mandate to cover the uncovered areas of all segments of society across the Kashmir valley by taking the higher education opportunities at the door steps of the learners which is one of the main objectives of IGNOU.

“The Regional Director expressed his commitment to serve the learner community for the development of their career and to shape the future of the nation. After taking over the charge the Regional Director interacted with the officers of the Regional Centre, Srinagar and advised them to be student/learner centered. He also thanked all staff members of RC Srinagar for their formal welcome.”

“Dr. Rizvi took over the charge of Regional Director IGNOU Srinagar yesterday and we are confident that under his dynamic leadership, IGNOU Regional Centre Srinagar will continue to thrive and excel in its mission especially for the best student support services,” reads the communique further.
