DPS Srinagar U-14 football team clinches championship title for the second consecutive year

Srinagar, Aug 01: Delhi Public School (DPS) Srinagar’s Under-14 Football team once again proved their mettle as they secured a sensational victory, claiming the championship title in the Inter-Zonal Boys Under-14 Football Tournament. The tournament, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Zone Amira Kadal, and held at Govt Boys Higher Secondary School Sonwar, witnessed an enthralling display of football talent from various schools.
 
The young footballers of DPS Srinagar exhibited their prowess and determination right from the opening encounter. In a thrilling match against Burn Hall, they showcased exceptional skills, securing a brilliant 3-2 victory. Undeterred by challenges, the team continued their dominant form, recording an impressive 7-0 win against Oak Hill School in the subsequent match.
 
With their confidence soaring, our DPS Srinagar U-14 boys faced Albani in their third match. Once again, they left no room for doubt, outperforming their opponents with a commanding 5-0 triumph.
 
The grand finale was a momentous showdown against Oasis Public School, where our young champions displayed unwavering resolve and exceptional football acumen. With a stunning 6-1 score, they defeated their opponents in style, sealing the championship title for the second consecutive year.
 
The school’s principal, Shafaq Afshan, expressed her pride and joy in the remarkable achievement of the U-14 team. “Congratulations to our talented footballers for their outstanding performance and dedication throughout the tournament. Their hard work and teamwork have brought great honor to our school,” she said.
 
Football coach Mudasir Bashir lauded the efforts of the young athletes, saying, “It’s incredible to witness the passion and dedication of these boys on the field. Their discipline and commitment to the sport have been commendable, and it’s an absolute pleasure to see their efforts culminate in this resounding victory.”
 
Chairman of DPS Srinagar, Vijay Dhar, also extended his warmest congratulations to the winning team. “This remarkable achievement by our U-14 football team fills us with immense pride. We believe in nurturing talent and fostering a spirit of sportsmanship in our students. The consistent success of our football team is a testament to our commitment to all-round excellence,” he stated.
 
DPS Srinagar continues to prioritize sports and physical education as an integral part of its curriculum, encouraging students to excel not only in academics but also in various sports. The school’s dedication to providing a holistic education has played a crucial role in shaping the future of young athletes, preparing them to face challenges with confidence and determination.
