Jammu, Nov 14: To mark the birth anniversary of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India, and to recognize the carefree joyousness of childhood, Children’s Day was celebrated with great fervour and enthusiasm for the students of Pre-Primary & Primary, and Middle & Senior wings on November 10 and 14, 2022, respectively. The students participated in several fun activities, while the teachers also presented special assemblies for them.
The toddlers of the Junior wing saw their own reflections on the stage in the form of their beloved teachers who presented the prayer, choir, thought, news, poem, and speech along with breath-taking cultural performances.
The special attraction of the Junior Wing Assembly was the musical and colorful puppet show based on a Panchtantra story of an elephant giving the message of ‘Friend in Need, is a Friend Indeed’, which was presented by the faculty of the pre-primary wing. There were also a group dance mash up, and a humorous skit performed by the primary and pre-primary teachers, capturing the essence of innocent childhood visible in a typical classroom which gave the message to children to always share everything with their teachers in the same way as they would confide in their mothers at home. The huge applause by the junior students cemented the bond of love and trust between teachers and students.
The teachers reminisced about their childhood through their presentations in the Special Assembly held for the Middle and Senior Wing students. It commenced with a prayer to the Almighty followed by the soulful choir, thought for the day, news, speech and poetry recitation with self-composed poems, highlighting the life and journey of a student in the school. Teachers also enthralled the students with their melodious singing and presented mesmerizing dance performances, such as Rajasthani Ghoomar dance.
While the children were involved in various class activities and competitions on Children’s Day, such as Spell-Bee, Poetry Recitation, Creative writing, PPT making, Role play, Stand-up Comedy, etc. separate felicitation ceremonies were also held for the children during the assemblies to recognize their achievements in various events and competitions at School, Inter-school, District, State and National levels.
