Kathua, Dec 21: Delhi Public School Kathua celebrated the First World Meditation Day with a rejuvenating yoga and meditation session Saturday.
This significant day, declared by the United Nations on November 29, was marked under the theme “Yoga, Meditation, Sudarshan Kriya: Health and Happiness” in collaboration with the globally renowned organization Art of Living.
The session focused on promoting holistic well-being among students and staff, emphasizing mental clarity, physical fitness, and inner peace. Expert instructors from the Art of Living guided participants through a series of yoga postures, breathing exercises, and the transformative Sudarshan Kriya technique.
The school witnessed enthusiastic participation, with students and staff joining the session with radiant smiles and positive energy. The serene environment and calming practices created a wave of tranquillity, reinforcing the importance of incorporating meditation into daily life.
Speaking on the occasion, the school principal, Mr. Vivek Arora, stressed the need to integrate such practices into the school curriculum to nurture both mental and physical health. He highlighted how meditation could play a vital role in shaping a healthy and mindful generation.
The event was coordinated by Rimjim Wazir, who ensured its seamless execution. The program concluded with a collective pledge to embrace mindfulness and wellness in everyday routines. Principal Mr. Vivek Arora extended his gratitude to the visiting Art of Living team and expressed hope for organizing more such initiatives in the future. This successful session underscored Delhi Public School Kathua’s commitment to fostering a balanced and harmonious lifestyle within its community, aligning perfectly with the ethos of World Meditation Day.
