DPS Budgam Celebrates Grandparents’ Day

Budgam, Oct 16: Grandparents are the family’s greatest treasure, the founders of a loving legacy, the greatest storytellers, and the keepers of tradition. Grandparents are the family’s strong foundation. Through their special love and care, grandparents keep a family close at heart. To honour them class Nursery, LKG and UKG of DPS Budgam celebrated Grandparents’ Day.The celebration began with the traditional Isbandh Ceremony followed by a Prayer and a heart-warming Welcome song. 
Many powers packed dance performances by the little superstars left the spectators spellbound and thoroughly mesmerized. Mumtaz-u- Nisa Soz-Pro VC DPS Budgam and ShobhnaSirohi-Principal DPSBudgam graced the occasion with their benign presence. The chief guests of the event were Sinigdah Singh-Principal Police Public School Srinagar andMushtaq Ahmad Qadri CEO Budgam. 
Grandparents shared some mesmerizing moments and the school campus had a different spell in the air. The fun-filled days which saw activities including dance performances, songs, folk songs, fun games etc. that were held to entertain the gathering, also highlighted the bond between the grandparents and the children. The grandparents with diverse experience and in different walks of life came together to relive their childhood. The Principal Ms ShobhnaSirohi addressed the importance of celebrating the grandparents’ day. She emphasized gratitude to all the grandparents and for the important role they play in positive attachments and family life. 
Sinigdah Singh in her address highlighted the importance of grandparents in our upbringing. Ms Singh further stated that older people are rich in experience and full of affection for their grandchildren. Mr Mushtaq Ahmad Qadri appreciated the efforts of the school for inculcating basic moral values among the children and asserting the importance of having elderly people around us. 
A vote of thanks was proposed by Ms Tanveer Joo- Junior School Incharge DPS Budgam who also felicitated the students and the entire DPS Budgam team for putting up scintillating performances for the grandparents. The success of the event was evident through the joyful smiles of the grandparents as they were overwhelmed to see their grandchildren performing for them. What children need most are the essentials that grandparents provide in abundance. They give unconditional love, kindness, patience, humour, comfort and lessons in life.
