DLSA Reasi hosts legal awareness outreach events

Reasi, Jan 07: District Legal Services Authority Reasi, under the visionary leadership of Chairman (also Pr. District and Sessions Judge Reasi) Khalil Choudhary and Secretary Pooja Gupta, organised an awareness programme on “Drug Awareness & Wellness Navigation” (DAWN) Scheme here at the District Hospital.

According to a statement issued here, Assistant LADC, Nomini Sharma was the resource person for the programme aimed at sensitizing the general masses of harmful effects of drug abuse and the need for prevention and rehabilitation. The participants were encouraged to seek timely, confidential and stigma free assistance through the National Drug De-Addiction Helpline (1933), Tele-MANAS-National Health Assistance and Wellness Support Helpline (14446) reinforcing a rights based and compassionate approach to recovery.

Additionally, PLVs pasted posters at different places of Main Market Katra, containing detailed information about the DAWN Scheme 2025.

Further, awareness programmes on the “Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat” campaign were held at Neta Ji Chowk Katra and at village Goswan. The masses were made aware of the ill effects and legal consequences of child marriage and the importance of ensuring education, health and overall development of children. The initiative aimed to create awareness at the grassroots level and to encourage the community to actively participate in preventing child marriages and reporting such incidents to the concerned authorities.
