Srinagar, Aug 8: The Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir, Vidhi Kumar Bhiduri, has extended an open invitation to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to participate in this year’s Independence Day celebrations on August 15.
Stressing the importance of the event for all citizens, including children, the Divisional Commissioner also announced that the Balidan Stambh, located at Lal Chowk, Srinagar, will be accessible to the public on the same date, offering an opportunity for people to pay their respects to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation.
During a site inspection of the ongoing work at the Balidan Stambh in Pratap Park, Srinagar, Bhiduri highlighted the overwhelming response from the public, who have shown great interest in attending the Independence Day event.
He stated that no special permission is required for participation residents simply need to bring their identity cards and arrive on time.
Encouraging families to bring their children to the event and to the Balidan Stambh, the administration aims to instill a deeper understanding of the sacrifices made by the nation’s heroes among the younger generation, he added.
