SRINAGAR, FEB 03: The Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, conducted a visit to Dargah Hazratbal today to personally assess the preparations for the upcoming observance of Shab-e-Meraj.
Among others who accompanied Divisional Commissioner included Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr Bilal Mohid ud Din Bhat; Commissioner SMC/CEO SSCL, Dr Owais Ahmad; Director Health Services Kashmir; SSP Traffic; Tehsildar North; Tehsildar Waqf Board, and other civil department officers.
During the visit, officials reported that measures had been taken to guarantee uninterrupted power supply. In addition to backup DG sets, two service lines were connected to provide electricity.
Responding to concerns raised by the Shrine’s Imam, Divisional Commissioner instructed SSP Traffic to restrict vehicle parking on the north side of the Shrine, addressing inconveniences faced by the increasing number of visitors.
Considering the cold weather, Divisional Commissioner directed Tehsildar Waqf Board to install waterproof tents within the premises of Hazratbal, with provisions for heating arrangements.
Emphasizing the importance of cleanliness, Div Com urged officials to ensure the proper functioning of public utilities and maintain sanitation in the shrine’s surroundings. CEO, SSCL, was tasked with deploying smart city buses on specified routes to manage crowds, especially during peak visitor times.
In a statement to the media, Bidhuri assured that the arrangements for Shab-e-Meraj would surpass previous years, emphasizing the commitment to ensuring a comfortable and enriching experience for all devotees.
Meanwhile, Bidhuri extended warm greetings to the public on the occasion of the recent snowfall, expressing the sentiment of “Nu Sheen Mubarak.”
