Div Com Kashmir reviews arrangements for Navroz, Eid-ul-Fitr, Navratra

Srinagar, March 20: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri Thursday convened a meeting of officers to review arrangements for the forthcoming festivals including Navroz-e-Alam, Shab-e-Qadir, Jumat-ul-Vidah, Eid-ul-Fitr and Navratra to facilitate devotees of different communities to observe auspicious occasions with faith and devotion.
The meeting was attended by all Deputy Commissioners of Kashmir Division and senior officers of Waqf Board, FCS&CA, PHE, PDD, R&B, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Health, Traffic Police, Metrology and other line departments. Addressing the meeting, Divisional Commissioner directed Deputy Commissioners and other officers to ensure seamless and adequate arrangements in view of all the festivals. He emphasised that there shouldn’t be any shortfall of any arrangements regarding basic amenities. He directed concerned officers of KPDCL, PHE to ensure uninterrupted supply of their services including electricity and water during festival days.
Bidhuri enjoined for constitution of market checking teams to ensure reasonable rates of consumables to general public and take strict action against erring traders. Similarly, he urged SMC and ULB for sanitation drives, fumigation and cleanliness at religious places including Mosques, Shrines and Temples. He also directed for deployment of dog catching team around Hazratbal Shrine for the safety of devotees. Div Com also instructed RTO and SSCL for plying special bus services to ferry passengers during Shab-e-Qadir, Jumat ul Vida and Eid-ul-Fitr to Hazratbal. FCS&CA was directed to ensure adequate supply of essentials in the market so that the people don’t face any inconvenience to observe these auspicious occasions.
