In a proactive step towards bolstering community resilience, the District Administration Baramulla in collaboration with Tehsil office Watergam and SDRF today organized a Mock Drill cum Training Programme on Disaster Management at Watergam Sopore.
The programme witnessed active participation of local authorities, Volunteers, and expert professionals.
The programme was presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore, Shabir Ahmad Raina, who emphasized the critical role of preparedness in mitigating the impact of disasters. The involvement of experts enriched the training, providing insights and best practices in disaster response.
The simulation encompassed various disaster scenarios, including earthquakes, floods, and fire emergencies, offering participants practical experience in handling diverse crisis situations. The collaborative efforts of participants underscored the community’s commitment to safety and effective emergency response.
The ADC said preparedness is the key to safeguarding our community. This Mock Drill cum Training programme is a significant step towards ensuring that our residents are equipped to face any unforeseen challenges.
During the programme, experts from SDRF imparted valuable training, and also conducted a live demonstration.
Later, volunteers who actively participated in disaster training were honored with certificates.
