Srinagar, Sept 09: The District Roller Skating Championship 2024, featuring boys and girls from various categories, was held at the Radpora Skating Rink in Srinagar. The event saw around 50 skaters competing across different age groups, showcasing their skills and sportsmanship.
Organized by the JK Roller Skating Association (Kashmir Wing) under the aegis of the J&K Sports Council, the championship attracted hundreds of spectators, including enthusiastic parents. The event was closely supervised by senior coach Ashraf Dijoo and organizer Kamel Ji from Jammu, ensuring smooth execution of the competitions.
The results are: Mini Group (Under-5): Esa and Mutaqeem secured the first and second positions in the 200-meter race.
5-7 Age Group (Boys): M. Zayeem Kak won gold, M. Husnain took silver, and Abdullah Irfan claimed bronze in the 500-meter race. In the Girls’ event, Maaresha Waseem won gold, and Aalima Asif secured silver.
7-9 Age Group: In the 1500-meter race, Ilma Naqash won gold, Khadija Javaid took silver, and Aisha Wani won bronze.
9-11 Age Group (Boys): Ibrahim Pindoo claimed first place, Syed Mohammad Irham took second, and M. Ayaan Wani came in third. In the Girls’ category, Hooriya Showkat won gold, Armeen Sheikh took silver, and Zunaira Shah secured bronze.
11-14 Age Group (Boys): M. Anas Ahanger clinched the top spot, followed by M. Haider in second and Himayat in third. In the Girls’ event, Sakeena Sajjad won gold, Aleena Irfan took silver, and Aiyra Shabir secured bronze.
The event was inaugurated by Sajjad, Senior Superintendent of Police, who encouraged the participants and praised the efforts of the organizers.
