District Red Cross Society today observed World AIDS Day 2023, under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary on the theme “Let communities lead”.

On the occasion, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Ramban, Giasul-Haq administered a pledge “I pledge to stop HIV stigma by learning more about HIV and sharing that knowledge with others. If we all do our part, we can stop HIV together” to participants in the premises of the District Administrative Complex, Maitra.

Meanwhile, various programmes were held in the District Hospital, Ramban, Government Degree Colleges and other health institutions to mark World AIDS Day. An awareness camp was organized by the Health Department in DH Ramban under the supervision of Medical Superintendent,   Dr. Virender Kumar Trisal.

On the occasion, the doctors sensitized the patients, attendants and students of ANMT School on the causes, prevention, treatment and myths of AIDS.

The Government Degree College Ramban also observed World Aids Day: “A Unified Call to Action”. In an effort to engage the community and promote understanding, College organized a series of events to mark this important occasion. Students   actively participated in preparing compelling posters that were displayed across college campuses to spread awareness about HIV/AIDS, challenge stereotypes, and encourage conversations around prevention and care.

To enhance our impact, GDC Ramban hosted a medical camp where healthcare professionals   from District Hospital Ramban provided free screenings, counseling, and distributed informational materials. The medical camp aimed to reach a wider audience and offered support to individuals who may have questions or concerns about HIV/AIDS.

Principal GDC Ramban, Ramesh Singh (Adolescent Health Counsellor) from District Hospital Ramban delivered an informative talk on this occasion.

Meanwhile, Government Polytechnic Ramban organized a seminar on world AIDS day, a global initiative to raise awareness about the HIV/AIDS pandemic, remember those who have lost their lives to the virus, and support those living with HIVThis seminar was coordinated by Shibana Akhter. She briefed the participants and the audience about HIV.
