The event was graced by the presence of Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Dr.Basharat Qayoom as the chief guest, who, along with other dignitaries, explored the multifaceted contributions of cooperatives in the district.
The Cooperative week celebrations started-off with an energetic inspection of stalls, where various cooperative societies proudly showcased their diverse products, epitomizing the evolution of the cooperative sector in embracing emerging areas. From traditional to contemporary, the stalls depicted the adaptability and innovation of local cooperatives.
Addressing the diverse gathering, the DC expressed his pleasure at witnessing such a vibrant assembly. Emphasizing the theme, he articulated the critical role of cooperatives in uplifting the local economy. He underscored the need for continuous innovation, adaptability, and exploration of new avenues for cooperatives to thrive.
The DC further delved into the evolution of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS). He articulated the significant shift of PACS from conventional shops to dynamic centers, underscoring their evolution in tandem with the changing economic landscape. He also highlighted how PACS, once confined to traditional roles, have diversified their services, becoming multifaceted hubs catering to a range of diverse economic needs.
Adding to the significance of the occasion, registration certificates were presented to newly registered cooperatives by the DC, symbolizing their official recognition and integration into the cooperative sector. Mementos were also presented to well-performing cooperative societies serving as a motivation for others to strive for excellence, fostering healthy competition within the cooperative sector.
Earlier, Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies Pulwama, Adnan Nazir in his address, shed light on the achievements of cooperatives within the district, emphasizing their crucial role in contributing to economic growth.
