District Level Narco Coordination Committee Meeting held in Reasi

Reasi, July 30: A meeting of the District Level Narco Coordination Committee (NCORD) was convened on Tuesday under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Reasi, Vishesh Mahajan, at the DC Office Complex.
The primary agenda of the meeting was to devise a comprehensive strategy to counter the menace of drug abuse in the district.
During the meeting, the Vishesh Mahajan reviewed the enforcement measures taken to eliminate drug abuse and its peddling throughout the district. He emphasized the formation of youth clubs in every Panchayat to engage young people in productive activities and prevent drug misuse.
To enhance public awareness, the DM directed the officers to sticking the awareness pamphlets in public vehicles and school buses. A special campaign will be launched to test Ponywalas and Pithuwalas for substance abuse. Additionally, schools and colleges are to conduct the ‘Nasha Mukt’ pledge during assemblies to reinforce the commitment to a drug-free environment.
The DM also instructed the Tehsildars to submit reports within 15 days on the use of agricultural land for cultivating Cannabis sativa.
ADC Kulbhushan Khajuria, PO ICDS Mohd. Anwar Bandey, I/C CMO Ashok Kumar, Principals of GDC, DSP (HQ) Neeraj Padyar, DSWO Sachin Sharma and Other Officers attended the meeting.
