Director Sericulture J&K visits Basic Seed Station Mirgund

Bids farewell to retiring officer Mohammad Younis Matoo

Mirgund, Aug 31: Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, IAS, Director Sericulture J&K, today visited the Basic Seed Station, Mirgund to assess the ongoing developmental works and the overall functioning of the Seed Station which plays a crucial role in Silkworm Seed and Cocoon Production in Kashmir Division.
Bhat during his visit to Basic Seed Station Mirgund, inspected Mulberry Nurseries, Farms, and Silkworm Seed Units. He also reviewed the functioning in the Office of the Manager Seed, Sericulture Development Department BSS Mirgund. The Director emphasized the importance of upholding high standards in the process of seed production and mulberry cultivation in order to significantly enhance productivity and quality of silk in the region. He issued specific instructions to the staff for the timely completion of ongoing projects and encouraged them to work with renewed dedication to meet the department’s goals.
The Director, Sericulture J&K during his visit to BSS Mirgund bid farewell to one of the employee posted in the Seed Station namely Mohammad Younis Matoo, Sericulture Assistant at the Basic Seed Station Mirgund, upon his retirement on superannuation after a distinguished career spanning 32 years.
Later in the day, a condolence meeting was also held by Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, IAS, Director Sericulture, on the demise of the employee Amar Singh, at the Directorate of Sericulture Development Department, Srinagar. The meeting was attended by senior officers and staff members who observed a two-minute silence in memory of the departed soul.
During the meeting, Bhat expressed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family and directed the concerned officials to ensure that the case of the deceased are processed promptly to alleviate the hardships of his family during this difficult time.
The Director Sericulture J&K was accompanied by the Additional Director, Sericulture Development Department, Kashmir Manager Seed, B.S.S Mirgund/ Srinagar and District Sericulture Officer Srinagar/ Budgam and other officers of the Department.
