Jammu, May 11: In a proactive step to ensure the timely and uninterrupted supply of seeds in border areas for the upcoming Kharif season, Director Agriculture Jammu, Arvinder Singh Reen, Sunday conducted a comprehensive inspection of seed stores located in the border areas of Jammu district.
Accompanied by Dr. Ashwani Kumar, Joint Director Agriculture (Inputs), Director Agriculture Jammu visited several key locations including Bishnah, Chak Hasal, Arnia, Dablehar, Dharap, Kirpind and other adjoining Zonal Seed Stores of Sub-Division R.S. Pura.
During the visit, Director A.S. Reen reviewed the availability of quality seeds and infrastructure readiness at each facility. He emphasised the importance of seamless seed distribution to the farming community, particularly in the sensitive border belts, and issued clear directions to ensure the instant and adequate supply of seeds, especially during peak demand periods. To further support the farming community, Director Agriculture instructed all seed stores in the border areas to remain operational even on holidays, ensuring farmers face no delays in procuring agricultural inputs.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ashwani Kumar, Joint Director Agriculture (Inputs), reiterated the department’s commitment to farmer welfare. He highlighted ongoing efforts to maintain adequate seed stocks and ensure logistical preparedness for the Kharif season.
