The event witnessed a large turnout of farmers and representatives from various line departments including Agriculture, Horticulture, Sericulture, Sheep Husbandry and Animal Husbandry Departments.
Speaking on the occasion, Director Sericulture J&K emphasized that the program is being organized under the able guidance of Mr. Shailendra Kumar (IAS), Principal Secretary to Government, Agriculture Production Department J&K.
He highlighted that the primary aim of the Kisan Sampark Abhiyan is to disseminate mass awareness among Silkworm Rearers, Farmers, Youth, and Women folk. This extensive publicity campaign seeks to enhance extension services and bridge the gap between laboratory research and practical field applications under the Holistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP).
During his address, he announced that the Government is in the process of establishing 2000 Kisan Khidmat Centers. These centers will play a crucial role in ensuring robust linkages with all line departments and universities, providing technical support, and contributing to a comprehensive agricultural plan and models. The centers will also facilitate service delivery at farmers’ doorsteps and conduct impact analyses of various schemes.
The event also featured testimonials from farmers who shared their positive experiences while counting the benefits of such awareness programs during the occasion.
Bhat encouraged the farmers and young entrepreneurs interested in agriculture and allied sectors to apply online for incentives and skill acquisition through the Kisan Sathi and Kisan Daksh web portals.
He assured the Farmers and all the stakeholders that their grievance, if any, will be redressed on priority and for that they can directly approach the Agriculture Production Department through Zonal, Sub-division, and District Offices for redress and assistance. He urged all stakeholders to actively participate in these schemes and programs to double their income and achieve a dignified livelihood.
The event was attended by the District Agriculture Officers, District Sericulture Officers, District Horticulture Officers and other officials which explicitly demonstrate the collaborative effort to support and uplift the agricultural community in J&K.
