Dir SCERT inaugurates ‘Kashmiri E Dictionary’

Srinagar, July 19: The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) Jammu and Kashmir, an advisory body to the Department of School Education, JK Government, is committed to enhancing the quality of education in the region.
Today, SCERT JK proudly inaugurated the “Kashmiri E Dictionary” at a prestigious function held at the SCERT JK Divisional Office Kashmir in Bemina, Srinagar.
This landmark event signifies a major stride in preserving and promoting the Kashmiri language through digital innovation.
The inauguration ceremony was led by Professor (Dr.) Parikshat Singh Manhas, Director of SCERT JK.
In his address, Professor Manhas lauded the collaborative efforts of the Department of Education in Languages and the Department of Education in Communication Technology and Computer Science, which jointly developed the e-dictionary. He emphasized that such initiatives are crucial in the digital age for preserving linguistic heritage and enhancing educational resources.
Professor (Dr.) Parikshat Singh Manhas highlighted the importance of the “Kashmiri E Dictionary” as a tool that will significantly benefit educators, students, and language enthusiasts. He commended the dedication and ingenuity of the teams involved and stressed the need for regular updates to the dictionary to keep it comprehensive and relevant.
Hem Raj Pakhru, Joint Director SCERT Central and SCERT Kashmir Division, participated in the function virtually, underscoring the integration of technology in educational and administrative processes. His virtual presence reflected the commitment to leveraging digital platforms for educational development.
Dr. Sanjay Pandita, Principal of DIET Budgam, was among the distinguished attendees at the event. He praised the initiative, noting its potential impact on language education and cultural preservation. Dr. Pandita emphasized that the e-dictionary is a testament to SCERT JK’s dedication to fostering educational excellence and cultural heritage.
The “Kashmiri E Dictionary” is poised to become an invaluable resource for students, educators, and researchers, providing easy access to the rich linguistic resources of the Kashmiri language. This digital tool aligns with SCERT JK’s mission to enhance the quality of education by integrating technology and innovative practices.
