DIG Central Kashmir chairs security and crime review meeting in Budgam

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Central Kashmir, Rajiv Omprakash Pande-IPS, chaired a comprehensive security review meeting in Budgam, focusing on the prevailing security scenario and counter-terrorism strategies in the district.

The meeting was attended by SSP Budgam, Shri Nikhil Borkar-IPS, along with the Senior Prosecuting Officer, SDPOs, and SHOs of the district.

During the meeting, a detailed assessment of the security situation was conducted, with a particular emphasis on recent developments and emerging challenges. DIG CKR highlighted the need for continuous review and enhancement of security plans to ensure imposition of law and order in the society. He underscored the importance of effective counter-insurgency strategies and proactive law enforcement measures.

SSP Budgam provided a comprehensive presentation outlining the security arrangements in place for anti-terrorist operations, maintenance of law & order, and the measures undertaken to combat drug-related crimes and other unlawful activities in the district.

DIG CKR further emphasized the need to strengthen the security of vulnerable targets, ensuring robust security arrangements to maintain public safety. He directed officers to closely monitor social media platforms to prevent the spread of misinformation that could disrupt law and order. He reiterated for incorporation of technology during investigation. He laid emphasis on strengthening police public relations through PCPG meetings.

DIG CKR issued directives for the strict implementation of new criminal laws. He also instructed field officers to combat terror ecosystem and narco-smuggling with an iron fist.

The meeting concluded with a firm commitment to enhancing coordinated security efforts to uphold peace and order in the district.
