The Department of Social Welfare Ganderbal and District Hub for Empowerment of Women (Mission Shakti) Ganderbal in collaboration with Socio Economic Empowerment of Kashmir Society (SEEKS) NGO organised a day-long awareness programme on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) at Government Higher Secondary School Khalmulla block Ganderbal.
On the occasion, Sabeeta, District Mission Coordinator Mission Shakti highlighted the importance of girl education and stressed on the upliftment of girls’ socio-economic status.
She said that education is the way to uplift the socio-economic condition of the girls in society.
She further highlighted the importance of Sukanaya Samridhi Yojana, a sub scheme under BBBP and informed participants how the government has come up with many schemes to help girls/women to accomplish education, employment and become self-reliant.
Members from said NGO also highlighted the importance of girl child and distributed pamphlets among all the participants.
