Srinagar, Dec 13:
In a heartening development during the Public Grievances Darbar led by Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) R R Swain in Srinagar, an elderly widow found closure to her 12-year pursuit of justice.
The widow, residing in Qamarwari, Srinagar, had been seeking justice for a matter involving a loan of Rs 9 lakh, lent by her late husband, a former Police inspector, to a friend in 2011. Despite persistent efforts, the borrowed amount was never returned, prompting her to explore various channels for resolution.
Upon learning about the DGP’s initiative to address public grievances, the woman seized the opportunity and filed a complaint. During the grievance hearing, the DGP, R R Swain, listened attentively to her prolonged struggle.
Impressively, the DGP swiftly intervened, directing the application to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, assuring the woman that her issue would be resolved within ten days. To her surprise, the matter was resolved in just three days.
“Surprisingly, I got resolution even faster than expected, with the matter being resolved in just three days”, she added.
Expressing her gratitude, the widow extended heartfelt thanks to DGP R R Swain for his prompt and effective intervention, bringing an end to her 12-year struggle for justice.
