The Director General of Police, Jammu and Kashmir, R.R. Swain, led a solemn delegation to pay respects to the family of the late Inspector Masroor Ahmad Wani and extend support to the injured Police Selection Grade Constable Mohammad Hafeez.
In a poignant visit to Inspector Masroor Ahmad Wani’s home in Srinagar, DGP Swain, accompanied by ADGP Law and Order Vijay Kumar, IG Kashmir V. K. Birdi, and other officers, expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family.
The DGP conveyed the enduring remembrance of Inspector Wani’s supreme sacrifice within the J&K Police family and assured them of the institutional support that would be extended to his grieving family.
During the visit, the DGP and his team met with the late inspector’s father and other family members, offering prayers for the peace of the departed soul. The entire law enforcement community’s gratitude for Inspector Masroor Ahmad Wani’s sacrifice was underscored during this heartfelt encounter.
Following the visit, R.R. Swain and his team proceeded to the Military Hospital BB Cantt. Srinagar, where they inquired about the health of Police Selection Grade Constable Mohammad Hafeez. Constable Hafeez had sustained injuries to his right arm and right side abdomen in a terrorist attack the previous evening.
Expressing concern for the injured officer, the DGP engaged with the medical staff, advocating for all necessary measures to ensure Constable Hafeez’s swift recovery.
This visit underscores the DGP’s dedication to honouring the sacrifices made by police personnel and ensuring the well-being of those injured in the line of duty. The entire law enforcement community stands united in mourning the loss of Inspector Masroor Ahmad Wani and supporting the recovery of Constable Mohammad Hafeez.
