Srinagar, Feb 08: Thousands of devotees thronged the Hazratbal shrine in Srinagar on the eve of Meraj Un Nabi (SAW) on Thursday to catch a glimpse of the holy relic of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) .
Large number of devotees including men, women, and children thronged the shrine to pay their obeisance and offer prayers.
On the eve of Shab-e-Meraj, the shrine was decorated with colorful lights, and several arrangements were put in place to provide a hassle-free experience for the devotees visiting the shrine.
Earlier, the traffic department had devised a route plan for traffic movement towards the Hazratbal shrine. However, for the smooth functioning of the religious event, the authorities made all the arrangements at the shrines in Kashmir Valley. Senior officials from the administration also made personal visits to the shrines to review the facilities.
To seek the blessing during the holy occasion, the devotees also organized several gatherings and Mahafil-e-Naat. At different mosques located throughout the valley, special religious speeches and programs were organized.
In their speeches, ulemas and religious scholars highlighted the teachings and many facets of the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
The Waqf board this year has also made food available there for devotees for the first time which was offered free to devotees. . The officials from the Wqf said that the Shab e Khwani was held peacefully.
The administration had put around 100 buses into service to Dargah Hazratbal, where the main congregation prayers were held to ensure seamless transportation for the devotees. Such arrangements were made for the first time, according to the devotees.
The caretakers of the shrine said all the arrangements were put in place by the administration, including heating, drinking water facilities, and traffic management. They revealed that the holy relic was displayed to devotees after every prayer on Thursday.
