Srinagar, July 29: Ahead of Amarnath Yatra, commencing from July 1, devotees from various states have gathered at the Yatri Niwas Jammu and expressed their contentment with the arrangements made for their pilgrimage. The annual journey to the sacred Amarnath shrine, situated at an altitude of 3,880 meters in the south Kashmir Himalayas, is scheduled to commence on July 1 and will run until August 31.
Sunil Ankar, who arrived at Jammu railway station along with a group of 80 individuals from Maharashtra, shared his positive experience, stating that it is their second visit to the Amarnath Cave. “We are pleased with the arrangements at Yatri Niwas Jammu. The food and accommodation provided are excellent, and the staff members are cooperative, offering us assistance and support,” he expressed.
Ankar further revealed that they will be joining the first batch of pilgrims on July 1, and after their darshan (religious visit), they plan to explore the neighboring tourist destinations in the Kashmir valley.
Another devotee, Neha Sharma, who is visiting Jammu and Kashmir for the first time, expressed her surprise at the situation on the ground. “It appears that the situation here is completely normal, contrary to what we witnessed on news channels,” she remarked. Neha expressed gratitude for being registered in the first batch and praised the local administration for their excellent arrangements. “We are thankful to the local administration for the remarkable arrangements. They have taken good care of us,” she stated.
Manish Patel, who arrived in Jammu on Monday evening, shared that this is his second visit to the holy cave. “After witnessing the satisfactory arrangements here last year, I decided to bring my entire family along this time,” he explained. Patel acknowledged the cooperation of the local community, emphasizing the solidarity and hospitality shown towards the pilgrims. “The local community in Kashmir has consistently extended their support to the pilgrims by providing various services such as temporary shelters, food, water, and acting as guides during the treacherous trek,” he elaborated. This harmonious cooperation between the two communities is fostering amity and harmony in the region.
As the Amarnath Yatra commences on July 1, devotees are optimistic about their pilgrimage, praising the arrangements at Yatri Niwas Jammu and acknowledging the assistance provided by the concerned agencies. With the support of the local administration and the welcoming nature of the local community, the devotees are poised for a fulfilling and spiritually enriching experience at the sacred Amarnath Cave.
